A MOSQUITO SURVEY OF CULICIDAE SPECIES AT EDİRNE CENTRAL DISTRICT FOR DISEASE VECTOR

چکیده
Mosquitoes are the most important vectors that can transmit many diseases agents to humans and animals. This study was conducted in Edirne central district between July 2017 2018 identify vector mosquito species, determine their seasonality distribution pattern general terms. Larvae, pupae, adults were collected from areas assessed as being particularly suitable for medically species included genus of Aedes, Culex, Anopheles. In addition foci naturally found areas, ovitraps placed proper points also used. As a result, 3155 female 353 male mosquitoes belonging 13 5 genera obtained. Among these Anopheles sacharovi (the primary malaria Turkey) Culex pipiens s.l. West Nile Fever) has been recognized public health threat province. An. represented at very low population level, while Cx. determined common dense area. Known have high preference warmer climate compared members maculipennis s.l., risk increasing its region with possible global warming future. The importance this increases even more since rice production is widespread especially use paddy fields an effective breeding place. While Aedes caspius commonly encountered, Ae. albopictus not during field observation ovitrap controls.

Vector competence of selected African mosquito (Diptera: Culicidae) species for Rift Valley fever virus.
Outbreaks of Rift Valley fever (RVF) in Egypt, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia have indicated the potential for this disease to spread from its enzootic areas in sub-Saharan Africa. Because little is known about the potential for most African mosquito species to transmit RVF virus (family Bunyaviridae, genus Phlebovirus, RVFV), we conducted studies to determine the vector competence of selected African...
متن کاملA Record of Mosquito Species Collected during a Larval Survey in Argentina and Uruguay (diptera, Culicidae)’
Mosquito larvae were collected in 3 provinces in Argentina and 1, in Uruguay, to search for pathogens which might serve as biocontrol agents. In all, 411 larvae belonging to 19 species were mounted and identified. They include 7 new province records for Argentina and a new country record for Uruguay. In Dec. 1984, three of us (JJB, EIH, JJG) collected mosquito larvae in the Provinces of Formosa...
متن کاملRainfall and vector mosquito numbers as risk indicators for mosquito-borne disease in central Australia.
There have been 5 confirmed cases of Murray Valley encephalitis virus (MVE) infection in the Alice Springs region during the high rainfall years of 1999/00 and 2000/01, compared with one case in the preceding 9 years. There also appeared to be an increased prevalence of Ross River virus (RR) infection in the Alice Springs and Tennant Creek regions associated with high rainfall. This paper prese...
متن کاملAn updated checklist of mosquito species (Diptera: Culicidae) from Madagascar
An updated checklist of 235 mosquito species from Madagascar is presented. The number of species has increased considerably compared to previous checklists, particularly the last published in 2003 (178 species). This annotated checklist provides concise information on endemism, taxonomic position, developmental stages, larval habitats, distribution, behavior, and vector-borne diseases potential...
متن کاملIdentification of Belgian mosquito species (Diptera: Culicidae) by DNA barcoding.
Since its introduction in 2003, DNA barcoding has proven to be a promising method for the identification of many taxa, including mosquitoes (Diptera: Culicidae). Many mosquito species are potential vectors of pathogens, and correct identification in all life stages is essential for effective mosquito monitoring and control. To use DNA barcoding for species identification, a reliable and compreh...
